Mathew Wilton.

Mathew Wilton is an Associate Lawyer at Smith Immigration Law. Mathew represents clients pursuing a full range of immigration and refugee applications by supporting individuals, families, and businesses to meet their immigration goals. His experience includes navigating Canada’s temporary and permanent resident economic pathways, helping families reunite through sponsorship and humanitarian applications, and regularly representing refugee claimants before the Refugee Protection Division and Refugee Appeal Division. His work includes representing individuals in judicial reviews before the Federal Court, and appeals before the Immigration Appeal Division. 

Mathew's work is rooted in his experience in the non-profit sector, assisting in community development and refugee resettlement efforts. This includes work with the University of Ottawa’s Refugee Hub,  the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal, Community Legal Services of Ottawa, and Capital Rainbow Refuge where he supported the development of their Queer Refugee Hearings Program.

Mathew is a member of the Refugee Lawyers Association of Ontario, Canadian Immigration Lawyers Association, and the Canadian Bar Association.
