
Noreen Khimji.
Noreen Khimji is an Associate Lawyer at Smith Immigration Law, where she focuses on refugee protection and proceedings before the Immigration and Refugee Board. She brings a compassionate and detail-oriented approach to preparing refugee claims, drawing on a strong foundation in public interest law and international advocacy.
Noreen holds a Juris Doctor and a Master of Public Administration from Queen’s University, earned through a competitive dual-degree program. She completed her undergraduate studies at Wilfrid Laurier University in 2018, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies with minors in Spanish and Psychology.
During law school, Noreen was actively involved with the Indigenous Law Students’ Alliance and Queen’s Women in Law. She served as a student caseworker at the Queen’s Elder Law Clinic and completed a legal internship with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency, deepening her commitment to human rights and international legal frameworks.
Before joining Smith Immigration Law, Noreen completed legal training with the Legal and Risk Management team at the Canadian Red Cross, where she supported humanitarian legal work in a national context.
Noreen is fluent in English and speaks conversational Spanish, allowing her to serve a diverse client base with cultural sensitivity and care.
